Sniffing out new territory
UK wide pet care service 'The Dog Walker' makes two major appointments with the launch of its first franchise outside of Yorkshire and a new franchise in Silsden, West Yorkshire.
Former RSPCA main board director - Mike Hogg - joins the award-winning team to set up a new dog-walking franchise in Silsden after more than 20-years with the prestigious animal charity. Mike plans to offer his dog-walking, home-boarding and pet-taxi services initially in the Silsden and Skipton areas, before rolling out the service into surrounding Keighley, Bingley and Baildon areas.
“I seized the opportunity offered by the latest round of restructuring at the RSPCA to restructure my own work-life balance. I’ve always loved animals and knew I wanted to continue working with them in a more hands-on way. After researching animal care businesses nationally and meeting with Richie, I decided I liked The Dog Walker business model and animal-focussed ethos. I am really excited to get started!” (Mike Hogg).
Richie Womersley - Managing Director of The Dog Walker - said: “We’re delighted to welcome this new franchisee to our team. It’s a fantastic endorsement for our business to have someone of Mike’s calibre and expertise join us. This is the exciting start of our ongoing plan to roll out the franchise framework nationally over the next few of years.”
These latest appointments come on top of a busy year for The Dog Walker, which has seen it nominated for a raft of regional business awards, as well as being invited to take part in the Dragon’s Den BBC programme.
