The Dog Walker - York District
I'm Lorraine - Osbaldwick, Fulford, Heslington, Dunnington & Wheldrake - 07596 040661
I've lived in Osbaldwick since 2002. After 18 years working as a civil servant and being sat behind a desk it was time for a career change, so in 2010 i took the plunge. The great outdoors is my office and I love it!
York has some fantastic walks ranging from strolls alongside the River Ouse to walks in Hagg Woods and Wheldrake Woods to name just a few and you are always guaranteed to meet other dog lovers enjoying these great walks.
My own family has had the pleasure of owning a few dogs over the years. I have a golden cocker spaniel called Kimi. She is named after one of my favourite Formula 1 drivers Kimi Raikkonen, well I could hardly call her Michael Schumacher. Kimi is extremely friendly and has welcomed all the dogs that have boarded in our home with open paws, she loves the company and the chance to make new friends. Kimi and I have tried flyball, agility and obedience classes, it’s great fun and keeps us both fit!
Hi, I’m Bev - Heworth, Huntington, Haxby & Wigginton - 07860 153037
Prior to joining Lorraine at The Dog Walker, I had been aCivil Servant for 25 years. Last year I realised that it was time for a changeand through chatting to Lorraine, our dog boarder, found she was looking toexpand her business. It was a very easy decision to make, my love of dogs andthe outdoors or continue in a stuffy office. There was no contest!
I live in York with my husband David, our dog Riley and catFred. David and I met in 2008 and I wasvery lucky to share the love of his dog Shuck, a beautiful black Labrador whowas loved by all who knew him. We lost Shuck last year and initially felt wecouldn’t have another dog but soon came to realise the house wasn’t homewithout one. Shortly before Christmas,we were joined by Riley, a very exuberant seven year old black Labrador, whostill thinks he’s a teenager. Riley iscurrently in training and if he works hard at his homework he will be joininghis pal Kimi at Agility later this year.
I’mreally looking forward to building up the business in my areas of Haxby,Wigginton, Huntington and Heworth and hope that I will soon be as well known bythe local doggies as Lorraine is by hers. Having walked with her it is great to see the welcome she gets from herregulars and the pleasure they take in meeting up with their doggy pals.
